Production capacity

The melted slag generated when pig iron is manufactured in domestic steelworks is taken out of a blast furnace, made in the form of small grains of sand by rapidly cooling it, and pulverized into fine powder by a crusher. In addition, it is produced and sold in a factory with an annual production capacity of 600,000 tons in Sinpyeong-myeon, Dangjin-si, Chungcheongnam-do, Korea.

Characteristics of ground granulated blast-furnace slag

The ground granulated blast-furnace slag is produced under strict quality control in accordance with Korean Industrial Standards (KS F 2563).

Use

Type use characteristic
Ground granulated blast-furnace slag _ type 1 Special cement for the ultra-high strength and acid resistance of high-strength concrete
  • High-strength and high-durability concrete using low heat of hydration
  • High resistance to acidic sea water, sewage, etc.
Injection material for crack repair
  • Excellent permeability when used for repair and reinforcement of microcracks
Bricks, blocks, and boards Excellent workability, economy, durability, and waterproofness
  • Ground granulated blast-furnace slag _ type 2
Special cement for early strength/
fire resistance of highly flowing concrete
Solidifying agent and soil conditioner
  • Securing water-tightness during the waste solidification process
  • The enhancing effect of the interfacial properties of soil particles and the bonding force between the particles
Slag cement
  • Securing economic feasibility by using a substitution material for cement
  • Low heat and excellent permeability, workability, and long-term strength
Ground granulated blast-furnace slag _type 3 Ordinary concrete
Silicate fertilizer
  • High resistance to harmful insects or pests
  • Enhanced lodging resistance and excellent effect of yield increase
